Adnan Darwiche is a professor and former chairman of the computer science department at UCLA.

He holds M.S. (1989) and Ph.D. (1993) degrees in computer science from Stanford University.
Received an honorary doctorate (docteur honoris causa) from the University of Artois, France, in 2022.
Served as Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Artificial Intelligence Research (JAIR).
Received the Lockheed Martin Excellence in Teaching Award.
Fellow of AAAI, ACM and AAIA.

Professor Darwiche directs the Automated Reasoning Group at UCLA.
His research interests span probabilistic reasoning, symbolic reasoning and machine learning.
