- The syllabus has
been updated with all scribe notes submitted by 23:59:59 local time.

- Here are some topics for your two- to three-page
report. (Initially this was going to be a one-page report, but since
we dropped the requirement for presentations, it's now somewhat longer.)
Each topic is illustrated by a single article or web page,
but please don't limit your reading to just this web page: you
should be coming up with a summary of the topic, not the
article. For example, some of these articles refer to recently
published scholarly papers, and you should read the original
papers, not just the article. Some of the topics are fairly large;
the intent is that
you focus on the operating system aspects of each topic, and not
other technical components, management, economics, or politics. Please
submit a one-page report in PDF form for the topic you chose.

- The CourseWeb copies of lab1a.tar.gz and of weensyos1.tar.gz (under
"Assignments") were
corrupted by a CourseWeb bug. We worked around that problem at around

from the "CS 111 Tarballs" section of
Keith Stevens's
Useful Links page.

get bochs-2.4.5.tar.gz
