• Jiwen's office hours are Thursdays 16:30–18:30 in Boelter 2432.
• Joseph's office hours have been moved. Now they are Thursdays 10:30–11:30 and 13:30–14:30.

• Chen's office hours are Mondays and Wednesdays 16:30–17:30 in Boelter 2432.
• Joseph's office hours are Thursdays 11:00–12:00 and 13:00–14:00 in Boelter 2432.
• The instructor's office hours have been changed slightly by adding 15 minutes to the Wedneday start and stop times. The Wednesday hours are now 09:45–10:45.
• The XSEDE Scholars Program is actively looking for students interested in gaining expertise in computational sciences. You can apply online; the deadline is September 30.

• We'll be handing out a CD in the first lab, containing either the current Ubuntu desktop x86 release. It'll be helpful (though not essential) to bring a USB drive to the first lab. Experts are welcome to use another recent Linux distribution.
• Assignment 1 is available. Please see Assignments for later assignments. These later assignments are tentative and may change before the week they are due.
• Check that your SEASnet account works right away, as there are occasionally delays before your account is activated.
