• Homework 2 has been clarified, as follows.
  1. More explanation is given as to why successful acceptors typically return Some (derivation,fragment) values.
  2. An explanation is given for why rightmost derivations are used: namely, it's supposed to make the assignment simpler.
  3. More explanation is given for the order of rules to use.
  4. Two typos are fixed by replacing make_matcher with parse_prefix (twice).
  5. Another test case, test5, has been added, to give an example of an acceptor that is conditional on its derivation argument.
  We'll talk more about this homework in class tomorrow.
• Andrew Binstock's article Dynamic languages: More than just a quick fix in today's InfoWorld examines some of the practical reasons why interest in dynamic languages like Python and Ruby has been increasing recently.
• Homework 2 is available. Its due date has been adjusted to April 22.
