• Assignment 7 now asks you to use Mudflap too, and its CERT vulnerability list has been updated.

2011-04-11

• The GNU mail archive web server seems to be down today, so Assignment 3 has been updated to include URLs to a backup site for the referenced messages.

2011-04-05

• In Assignment 2, the location of the English words files has changed; it is now ~eggert/words on the SEASnet servers.
• The deadline for Assignment 2 has been extended to April 10.
• Gautam's office hours are Tuesday 15:30–16:30 and Thursdays 17:00–18:00. Lucas's office hours have changed to Wednesdays 16:30–18:30.

2011-04-01

• Two typos have been fixed in Assignment 1, by fixing the commentary to match the code. The text "followed by a copy of exer4.html" has been replaced with "followed by a copy of exer2.diff". And the text "The idea is to edit the file to be identical to exer1.html" has been replaced with "The idea is to edit the file so that it looks identical to exer1.html on a browser, even though the file itself is a bit different internally".

• Lucas's office hours have been changed to Thurdays 15:00–17:00.

• Joseph's office hours are Mondays and Thursdays 16:00–17:00, and Lucas's are Thurdays 14:00–16:00. Gautam's have not been set yet.

2011-03-25

• We'll be handing out a CD in the first lab, containing either the current Ubuntu desktop x86 release. It'll be helpful (though not essential) to bring a USB drive to the first lab. Experts are welcome to use another recent Linux distribution.
• Assignment 1 is available. Please see Assignments for later assignments. These later assignments are tentative and may change before the week they are due.
• Check that your SEASnet account works right away, as there are occasionally delays before your account is activated.
