News for UCLA Computer Science 35L, Spring 2013

Here are news items that affect the core assignments and class material.

2013-05-22

• Assignment 8 has been updated to correct the name of the file to submit; it is thttpd-sanitize.s, not thttpd-fmudflap.s. Also, a misleading URL has been removed.
• Assignment 8 has been updated to mention the -Xlinker --rpath option needed to compile with address sanitization.

2013-05-20

• Assignment 8 is available. It differs from the draft version slightly.

2013-04-29

• Assignment 5 is available. It differs from the draft version slightly.

2013-04-22

• Assignment 4 is available. It differs from the draft version slightly.

2013-03-30

• We'll be handing out a CD in the first lab, containing the current Ubuntu desktop x86 release. It'll be helpful (though not essential) to bring a USB drive to the first lab. Experts are welcome to use another recent Linux distribution.
• Assignment 1 and Assignment 10 are available. Please see Assignments for other assignments. These other assignments are tentative and may change before the week they are due.
• Check that your SEASnet account works right away, as there are occasionally delays before your account is activated.
• Here is a suggestion if you're interested in the course but are neither enrolled nor on the waiting list.
  • Any PTEs are not typically given out until the end of the second week, to make sure that enough resources are available. You can try coming to classes before then. Sign up on any attendance sheet that is being passed around.
