Here are news items that affect the core assignments and
class material.
  - 2025-05-20
 - 
    The deadline for the end-of-quarter LA feedback survey has
    been moved earlier, from Friday 10th week to Monday 10th week.

    Assignment 6 has been

      - Assignment 6 is available
	with changes from the preliminary draft,
	concerning using LLMs for generating test cases.

      - Assignment 3 is available
	with some changes from the preliminary draft. More starter
	code has been added. Instructions for setup and
	initialization (including for WSL users) has been added.
	Common problems have been described.
	Autograder advice has been added.
 
      - The value of Assignment 6 (which has not been finalized yet)
	has been increased from 3% to 4%. This fixes a typo in which
	the total values the assignments did not add up to the proper
	value.
 
    
   - 2025-04-15

      - Assignment 2 is available
	with some minor changes from the preliminary draft,
	saying more precisely what should be in notes.txt,
	and changing the submission format to something more suitable
	for Gradescope. A small note was added near the start of Exercise 2.1 requiring
  the usage of /usr/bin/emacs instead of the normal emacs command
  for that exercise. 
 
      - The names of Assignment 1's
	dribble files have been fixed.

       - Assignment 1's autograder is available on Gradescope.
 
       - The grading webpage gives more details
	 about how class participation is counted.
 
       - The project webpage has been updated
	 with logistics for presentations, submissions, etc.
	 Please fill out the linked Google Form as soon as possible.
 
       - The assignment page now
	 gives deadlines for the group form and the weekly reports.

   - Create
    your SEASnet account and then check that it works as soon as
    you can, as there are occasionally delays before
    your account is activated.

    Here are suggestions if you're
    interested in the course but are neither enrolled nor on the waiting list.

       Read Enrollment in
	 Computer Science Classes and follow its advice.
 
     - 
       Any PTEs are not typically given out until the end of the second week,
       to make sure that enough resources are available.
       You can try coming to classes before then.
       Sign up on any attendance sheet that is being passed around.
