• The assignment instructions have been modified to make it clear that students should not be running commands like su and sudo on the SEASnet servers.

• We'll be handing out a CD in the first lab, containing either the latest Ubuntu desktop x86 release or some variant of that. It'll be helpful (though not essential) to bring a USB drive to the first lab. Experts are welcome to use another recent Linux distribution.

• Check that your SEASnet account works right away, as there are occasionally delays before your account is activated.
