Here are news items that affect the core assignments and
class material.

- Assignment 5 is available.
Its lab is the same as in the preview version, but the homework
has changed somewhat, so make sure you have today's version.

- Lauren's office hours are Tuesdays 12:00–13:00 and Thursdays 14:00–15:00 in Boelter 2432.
- Jerry's office hours have been changed to Tuesdays 15:00–17:00.

- Jerry's office hours are Tuesdays 12:00–14:00 in Boelter 2432.
- Sharath's office hours are Wednesdays 15:00–17:00 in Boelter 2432.
- Paul's office hours are Mondays 09:00–10:00 and Wednesdays 14:00–15:00.

- We'll be handing out a CD in the first lab, containing
the current Ubuntu
desktop x86 release. It'll be helpful
(though not essential) to bring a USB drive to the first
lab. Experts are welcome to use another recent Linux
distribution.
- Assignment 1 and Assignment 10 are available. Please
see Assignments for other
assignments. These other assignments are tentative and may
change before the week they are due.
- Check that your
SEASnet
account works right away, as there are occasionally delays before
your account is activated.

Here are some suggestions if you're
interested in the course but are neither enrolled nor on the waiting list.
- Sign up at the HSSEAS OASA
Winter 2013 Enrollment Survey.
The Dean's office will use that to advise us if there is
a crunch.

Any PTEs are not typically given out until the end of the second week,
to make sure that enough resources are available.
You can try coming to classes before then.
Sign up on any attendance sheet that is being passed around.
