Here are news items that affect the core assignments and class material.

2015-03-02

• Assignment 9 is available.

2015-02-23

• Assignment 8 is available. It's quite a bit different from the draft, and looks mostly like the old Assignment 9.
• In Assignment 7, the file named lab9.txt has been renamed to lab.txt. Because of this confusion, we'll accept any of the three names lab9.txt, lab7.txt, lab.txt.

2015-01-29

• Typos in Assignment 4 have been corrected, by replacing "Screenshot.png and gitk.txt" with "gitk-screenshot.png, and gitk-description.txt".

2015-01-27

• Assignment 4 has been updated to suggest using a copy of the GNU Emacs git repository's master branch that is already on SEASnet. You can use this to save you the time of copying the repository from the main server at savannah.gnu.org.

• Assignment 4 is available. It is slightly changed from the draft version.

• TA office hours are as follows in Boelter 2432.

  3. Lauren Samy: Mondays and Wednesdays 10:30–11:30
  4. Tai-Lin Chu: Mondays and Thursdays 12:00–13:00
  5. Ruolin Fan: Thursdays 14:00–16:00

2015-01-02

• We'll be using the current Ubuntu desktop x86 release. It'll be helpful (though not essential) to bring a USB drive to the first lab. Experts are welcome to use another recent Linux distribution.
• Assignment 1 and Assignment 10 are available. Please see Assignments for other assignments. These other assignments are tentative and may change before the week they are due.
• Check that your SEASnet account works right away, as there are occasionally delays before your account is activated.
• Here is a suggestion if you're interested in the course but are neither enrolled nor on the waiting list.
  • Any PTEs are not typically given out until the end of the second week, to make sure that enough resources are available. You can try coming to classes before then. Sign up on any attendance sheet that is being passed around.
