A new set of Edison instructions has an
updated list of components. (Some of the components
in the older list were out of stock.)

Here are some topics for your three-page report.
     The first topic is illustrated by an advocacy article;
if you choose this one, please don't limit your reading to
     just this source: you
should be coming up with a summary of the topic, not the
article. The remaining topics are illustrated by a single article taken
from ACM Computing Surveys (CSUR), where
your job is to summarize and critique the survey article
(for example: did it overlook important subtopics? is it up-to-date?).
Some of the topics are fairly large; the intent is that
you focus on the operating system aspects of each topic, and not
other technical components, management, economics, or politics. Please
submit a three-page report in PDF form for the topic you chose. Your
audience for this report is a busy computer science professional
who knows the operating systems but may not be an expert
     in this particular topic.

Any PTEs are not typically given out until the end of the second week,
to make sure that enough resources are available.
You can try coming to classes before then.
Sign up on any attendance sheet that is being passed around.
