GENERAL
AND TECHNICAL ACTIVITY
Possess electrical engineering, and
operations research (computer applications, applied mathematics) training and
skill. Substantial research and teaching in image analysis and computer
education. Service to federal agencies includes activities sponsored by
contractors such as Aerospace, Rand, etc. UCLA committee service Continuing and
Community Education. Consulted by lawyers, medical doctors.
Pattern
analysis is central to image, waveform, and statistical work done in research
and application modes. Published papers while a Ph.D. student. Accomplishments
recognized by book citations. Organized graduate courses. Taught and managed
large numbers of undergraduates in data structures and project design courses.
Work in both visual and auditory domains, and also in numerical signal analysis. Pioneered in
examining how human interactive systems allow judgment to impact evolving
conditions. Work repeatedly recognized by professional appointments, invited
publications, and visiting lectureships as Workshop
on Image Processing and Related Mathematical Problems, Zhejiang
University, May 2004.
