News for UCLA Computer Science 131, winter 2023
Here are news items that affect the core assignments and
- A version number in Homework 3
has been corrected; it’s gzip 1.12, not 1.11.
- The due date for Homework 2
has been extended by a day, to February 3.
- Homework 2 now also contains a conventional
BNF representation of awkish_grammar, fixing a
dangling reference to a "Theoretical background" section.
- The length limit on the after-action report for
Homework 1 has been raised
from 1000 to 2000 characters.
- We are using CampusWire instead of Piazza for

has been updated to reflect what was said in class yesterday,
saying that you shouldn’t use
generative AI like GitHub Copilot or ChatGPT
to do homework assignments.
- Homework 1 is available.
- Create your SEASnet
account and then check that it works as soon as
you can, as there are occasionally delays before
your account is activated.
