Rick Ainsworth and Alfonso Cardenas attended the recent April 24-25th, 2008, National Science Foundation meeting in Seattle, Wa., of Principal and Co-Principal Investigators in the Broadening Participation in Computing program. Ainsworth and Cardenas shared experiences of the UCLA FOCUS program with other participants. This nation wide BPC program encompasses now a good number of other diversity programs, a few already in their third year.

Rick Ainsworth was invited to present the UCLA experience over the last few years in a plenary session, in view of the very positive results of diversity efforts in Engineering at UCLA.
