You are invited to a presentation and meeting in the Computer Science Department that will address opportunities for CS and CSE diversity undergraduates to be involved in various ways in research projects and in Prof Alfonso Cardenas research projects in the Information and Data Management area. There are several openings for undergraduate assistantships including $stipends provided by the National Science Foundation (NSF) FOCUS grant awarded to UCLA /focus/ .
Prof. Cardenas, Prof. David Smallberg and graduate students in Prof. Cardenas research group will dialogue with interested students at the end. PhD student Raymond Pon will present highlights of a research project on internet searching for news of interest to a particular person for which system test volunteer openings are available now, with the opportunity to learn about this advanced and visible research project conducted in collaboration with Lawrence Livermore National Lab.
