Students Reviews (selected)

  • Our TA is one of the best TA I have ever known. Without a TA like him, it is hard to survive in this course. He knows which parts are hard to follow, and is willing to make accommodations all the time. He also is knowledgeable in this area although this is not the main focus of his research. He is one of the most responsible TA who is willing to devote time and effort to this course, although again this is not his field. He makes most of the content clear in this course which I really appreciate.

  • This course is a great learning step and resource for students interested in applying digital logic design theory to real world projects. I found it helpful to gaining a more practical understanding of what it means to be a Digital Logic engineer and enjoyed the experience overall. Some strengths of the course are that it has a nice progression of labs in that each builds on prior lab material. I think the scope of the class is pretty good, and doesn’t attempt to teach/apply too difficult of concepts. Some weaknesses I think are related to general course planning and structure, where some teams clearly grasped the material much faster and thus got an advantage in group settings. The course material could have been better presented, or perhaps a hand-guided tutorial video would be helpful for the first lab.

  • This course was unnecessary for the computer science major since it is so low level and irrelevant–should be something only computer engineering majors have to take. The TA was great! Always helped when asked questions and very accommodating.

  • Class was fine, kinda enjoyed it, but some of the hw/projects were difficult and hurt my brain. i think the ta did a great job helping out with hw, he was very knowledgable
